Video-Lose Weight Over the Holidays!
How many holidays seasons have you gained 5 to 10 pounds and then had a rough time taking it off?
I know what it’s like, I used to do the same thing and felt frustrated and disgusted with the way I looked and felt.

I am going to give you some great tips to help you enjoy holiday treats and still lose weight.
#1 If you have a holiday party in the evening don’t starve yourself all day long because you know you will have some holiday treats. If you get to the party and you are ravenous, you will eat more than you normally would. Eat sensibly during the day and arrive at the party with a normal appetite.
#2 Part of the reason you over indulge in sweets is because you think of sweets as a forbidden treasure. You always want what you can’t have, and you create all kinds of drama around this. Give yourself permission to have what I call “Joy” food 10% of the time and then enjoy it. This can be Oreos, cake, candy, Doritos, wine or anything you like. This takes away from the drama.
#3 Learning how to manage your emotions is huge! How many times have you felt lonely, frustrated or disappointed and turned to food to try and make yourself feel better? You go hunting down the nearest donut or cupcake, so you don’t have to feel whatever negative feeling you have going on.
You are human. You are not going to feel happy 100% of the time. Shit happens. Maybe you didn’t get the job you wanted, miss your Mom over the holidays, have conflict with your mother in-law, your kids are difficult, or you just feel lonely. It seems like your emotions are heightened during the holidays because you think, “why don’t I have a normal family?”
Guess what? No one has a “normal family.” Except for the “Father Knows Best” family but that was a TV make believe family.
You’ve been eating over your emotions for so long you don’t know what else to do with your emotions. There is hope. I used to eat over my emotions all the time and gained 50 pounds back in my 20’s. I have lost the weight and kept it off for decades.
Learning to manage your emotions is key to permanent weight loss.
